Mini-Post Mondays: Sick, Nate

mini post

I’ve been sick for the past week. Like, fever, chills, sweats, body aches, so weak I’ve barely been on WordPress sick. I don’t really know what else to say about it, but that explains my absence. I’m probably going to take some time off to recover. I still feel weak just typing this.

Things with Nate have been going okay. We’re working through things, trying to talk a lot and whatnot. This sickness is putting a damper on my writing him though. Ehh.

Yeah, that’s gonna be all for today. I’ll see you all probably after the holidays.

  1. I’m sorry to hear you’re so sick, especially during the holidays, when you could be enjoying yourself and your family and friends so much.

About you and Nate, I resonate with your “working through things, trying to talk a lot and whatnot.” We have a lot of that going on here at home, too. It’s a lot of work, a frequent need, but so well worth the work. The outcome is always worth it, even when it seems most unlikely to succeed — feeling sometimes not so much like it will fail outright but just that it will go nowhere, not advance, stagnate Even then, it surprises, and suddenly breaks through, or the resistance just seems to vanish suddenly — somehow it always becomes good, and we’re (amazingly) so much better for it.

We talk a lot, and when we do wonderful things happen; when we don’t, it gets worse. I hear that pattern in the things you write about you and Nate, and it gives me hope about you two, even with the deck stacked so heavily against you by outside forces, especially by physical separation. I wish you luck against those odds, and really feel like you will have it, when I read about your determination and your openness with each other both about what you do and especially about how you feel (which is so often the stumbling block with relationships, especially for us men).

Wishing you luck and joy in the new year,

  2. We will wait for you – take care of yourself! Rest is the most important thing. I have found that added stress often makes it worse so do your best to relieve some of your stresses. It’s great that you and Nate are talking – communication is key to any great relationship. It’s so hopeful that you’re talking it through. Good luck. Hope you have a wonderful holidays and are well enough to enjoy them.

Tell me whatcha think about that!
